Dull, settled light over the water, with almost no wind to speak of and no real change in pressure. The fish at Lac Farley are likely to sit near the first drop-off and weed lines. One clear peak today: the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Look for Lac Farley in the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean part of Quebec. The bank is 400 metres above sea level. Around 27 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. With about 4.4 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. For a base, Chibougamau sits 91 km out. It is 232 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Survey and observation records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Lac Farley repays a walk before the first cast.
Long-run averages give July about 16°C and January about -19°C. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. Climate figures give an open season running early May to mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Expect Lac Farley to follow that timing.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. For a change of water, Lac Durtol is 0.4 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Farley in what we hold.
