Cloud coming and going through the night, with a gentle ripple from the SW and no real change in pressure. The productive water at Lac en L will be around the shaded margin through bright spells. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

You will find Lac en L in Outaouais, Quebec. Everything around it is pine and birch. The water covers some 11 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Shoreline comes to about 1.5 km, small enough to learn in a day. Deep River lies 71 km from the water. The nearest city of size is Gatineau, 196 km away. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. The near bank of Lac en L is often the one people ignore.
Climate records put July near 18°C and January near -15°C. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac en L.
We hold no note on access for this one. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Dorion sits 2.1 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Lac en L in what we hold.
