Overcast skies today, with a gentle ripple from the S with the barometer flat. Most of the action on Lac Edward should come off shallow cover and weed edges. The morning is where the day comes good. Ride the conditions while they last. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lanaudière in Quebec is where Lac Edward sits. Everything around it is pine and birch. The water measures roughly 2 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. It is a small entry by Lanaudière standards. The nearest town is Mandeville, 15 km away. Saint-Gabriel lies 20 km off, Saint-Jean-de-Matha another 27 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Anyone new to Lac Edward should walk it once before setting up.
Climate records put July near 18°C and January near -14°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. On Lac Edward that shapes the whole year.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. If the gate is shut, Lac de la Bouderie at 0.6 km is the nearest alternative. None of that is settled for Lac Edward in what we hold.
