No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with next to no ripple and the barometer holding steady. Lac Edouard should fish best around inflow corners and shaded margins today. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

The Outaouais entry here is Lac Edouard, in Quebec. Elevation runs to 170 metres. Roughly 14 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Bank access stretches around 2.1 km in total. Ground here is low by Quebec standards. For supplies, Constance Bay is 12 km out. Cantley follows at 13 km, then Chelsea at 15 km. The boundary is near enough that local access rules are worth double-checking.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. At Lac Edouard the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Temperature averages peak at 19°C in July and bottom out at -12°C in January. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about early December. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. That is the shape of the year on Lac Edouard.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Facilities run to toilets 1.4 km from the water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. The nearest alternative is Lac Mousseau, 1.2 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Edouard in what we hold.
