Rain on and off through the day, with air barely moving with the barometer flat. The water to cover at Lac Easter is the shaded margin through bright spells. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Easter sits within Laurentides in Quebec. Beyond the shoreline you have spruce and muskeg. At about 32 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. There is roughly 3.2 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Size puts it in the front rank of our Laurentides list. Ferme-Neuve sits 79 km from here and is the nearest stop. For a city, Gatineau is 212 km off. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Laurentides records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout among the fish reported. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. On Lac Easter a short move beats a long cast.
Between January at about -17°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. The open-water window runs from around early May to about mid November in an average year. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Expect Lac Easter to follow that timing.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Serpenteau, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat access at Lac Easter as something to verify.
