Dull, settled light over the water, with an easy breeze from the SSE and pressure sitting still. Expect most activity at Lac Dumoine around the weed line and any gaps in it. Set the alarm around the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Dumoine is a Mauricie water, in Quebec. What surrounds it is rolling bush. With some 11 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Around 1.7 km of margin, front to back. La Tuque is the closest place, 26 km off. For a city, Trois-Rivières is 110 km off. Close by you have: 0.7 km out stands Lac du Nascapi, Petit lac a la Truite out at 0.9 km, 1.2 km out stands Lac Nemisitan, Lac au Foin out at 1.4 km and 1.5 km out stands Lac Maluron. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Mauricie records list northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker among the fish reported. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. Take Lac Dumoine a stretch at a time.
Averages move between -15°C in January and 18°C in July. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. The season on Lac Dumoine rarely departs from it.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac du Nascapi at 0.7 km is the sensible second choice. Where Lac Dumoine is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
