Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with just enough WSW wind to ripple the surface and pressure going nowhere. Give the weed line and any gaps in it the first hour at Lac du Sulpicien. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, is where Lac du Sulpicien sits. The surface lies 363 metres up. At 3 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list holds plenty of bigger water. Pont Rouge sits 80 km from here and is the nearest stop. Further out sit Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc (82 km) and Sainte-Monique (85 km). No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Records held for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean cover northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. The shape of Lac du Sulpicien rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -19°C. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. The season on Lac du Sulpicien follows the weather closely.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac de la Manigance at 0.8 km is the sensible second choice. Treat access at Lac du Sulpicien as something to verify.
