Heavy overcast holding through the day, with an easy breeze from the SSW with the glass holding level. Most of the action on Lac du Pinson should come off the margins and the shelf beyond them. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

The Abitibi-Témiscamingue end of Quebec holds Lac du Pinson. This is taiga country. This is a pocket water of some 9 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Start from Leblanc, 112 km down the road. For a city, Gatineau is 262 km off. Nearby, in order: 0.8 km away is Lac Laros, Lac Bozo within 1.1 km, 2 km away is Lac Connie, Lac Sore Foot within 2 km and 2.1 km away is Lac Moulin. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Take Lac du Pinson a stretch at a time.
The range across the year is -17°C to 16°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Anyone fishing Lac du Pinson regularly works to that calendar.
We hold no note on access for this one. Access points are not mapped for this water, which suits people who like quiet. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Laros at 0.8 km is the sensible second choice. Check the current arrangement for Lac du Pinson.
