Overcast skies today, with a kind S breeze on the water with a settled glass. Expect most activity at Lac du Loup around the calm side of the wind. The strongest window is the morning. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Night
Lac du Loup is a Lanaudière water, Quebec side. The setting is rolling bush. Surface area runs to about 5 hectares — small enough to read in one session. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm at 14 km is the nearest place to stop. Further out sit Saint-Michel-des-Saints (34 km) and Chertsey (39 km). No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Fish documented in Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. On Lac du Loup that means starting tight and working out.
Expect July to average close to 17°C, with January the cold end at about -15°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. The season on Lac du Loup rarely departs from it.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. The nearest alternative is Lac Isaac, 1.4 km out. The position on Lac du Loup is worth confirming on the day.
