An even grey lid over the water, with a mirror surface most of the day and no real change in pressure. Activity on Lac du Granite should centre on structure within a cast of the bank. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Set in Laurentides, Lac du Granite is a Quebec water. The surface lies 468 metres up. The water covers some 16 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. With about 2.4 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. The nearest place of any size is Rivière-Rouge, 28 km away. Labelle is 35 km and Mont-Tremblant 41 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. At Lac du Granite light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Long-run averages give July about 17°C and January about -15°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. On Lac du Granite that shapes the whole year.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac du Quartz, 0.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. The position on Lac du Granite is worth confirming on the day.
