Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with light air out of the SSW with a settled glass. Give sheltered bays and points the first hour at Lac du Don. Plan around the stretch from night into morning. Keep moving until you find them. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac du Don stands in Lanaudière, Quebec. Beyond the shoreline you have lake country bush. Surface area is around 14 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The edge runs 2.0 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Saint-Michel-des-Saints is the closest place, 18 km off. Mandeville lies 60 km off, Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm another 64 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Open biodiversity records for Lanaudière list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. At Lac du Don the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -15°C in January. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Plan any trip to Lac du Don around it.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Le Beau Lac, 2.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac du Don in particular, ask before you travel.
