A closed sky with even light today, with a faint SW drift with the glass holding level. Lac du Condor should fish best around the calm side of the wind today. A slow day overall; the evening is the best of a quiet lot. Lower the pace and stay patient. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Renfrew County, Ontario, is where Lac du Condor sits. The bank is 331 metres above sea level. This is a pocket water of some 4 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. On size it sits at the modest end of our Renfrew County list. Deep River sits 34 km from the bank. Chalk River is 42 km and Petawawa 61 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Renfrew County records list smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed and yellow perch among the fish reported. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Lac du Condor gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
The range across the year is -13°C to 19°C. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. Break-up near late April, freeze-up near early December: that is the shape of an average year. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. At Lac du Condor the season follows that pattern closely.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac du Buis, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac du Condor, the notice at the access point is the final word.
