An even grey lid over the water, with a light chop building from the S and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lac du Condor should come off any hard bottom among the soft. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

The Outaouais end of Quebec holds Lac du Condor. It stands 337 metres above sea level. Small at around 2 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is a small entry by Outaouais standards. Val-des-Monts sits 26 km from the bank. Gatineau sits 44 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Lac du Condor the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Climate records put July near 18°C and January near -13°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Open water usually runs from late April until about early December. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. The season on Lac du Condor follows the weather closely.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Failing this one, try Lac de l'Argile, 2.5 km away. For Lac du Condor in particular, ask before you travel.
