A closed sky with even light today, with just enough E wind to ripple the surface with the glass holding level. The fish at Lac du Bombardier are likely to sit near the shallows early and the drop later. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are.

This water sits in Centre-du-Québec, Quebec. The bank is 563 metres above sea level. The water covers around 5.11 sq km, which puts most of it out of reach from the bank. The bank runs about 28 km in total, split between open shore and sheltered corners. Across our Quebec listings, few waters are bigger. Salluit sits 138 km from here and is the nearest stop. After that come Puvirnituq at 277 km and Kinngait at 334 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. County-wide records name brook trout, northern pike and lake chub. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac du Bombardier gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
The seasonal spread runs -25°C to 9°C. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late June. Expect the water usable from around late June until roughly early October. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Expect Lac du Bombardier to follow that timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Raglan at 6.3 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac du Bombardier in particular, ask before you travel.
