Flat light and a covered sky today, with a busy SSW wind on the open water with the glass holding level. Whatever swims in Lac du Blaireau should be near inflow corners and shaded margins. Set the alarm around the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Morning
Within Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, you have Lac du Blaireau. Elevation runs to 532 metres. Roughly 17 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. A shoreline of some 3.0 km keeps the choices simple. It is high ground by Quebec standards. For supplies, Saint-Félicien is 39 km out. Then Normandin, 40 km, and Albanel, 48 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. County-wide records name northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Lac du Blaireau gives up more to patience than to distance.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -18°C on the long-run figures. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Anyone fishing Lac du Blaireau regularly works to that calendar.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac du Coffre sits 1.4 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac du Blaireau, the notice at the access point is the final word.
