A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a faint SW drift and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lac Dryander is the first drop-off and weed lines. The forecast is against you; the night is the least bad option. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Dryander is one of the Outaouais waters in Quebec. The water sits 313 metres up. This is a pocket water of some 6 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Deep River lies 44 km from the water. The big place round here is Gatineau, 191 km distant. Also within reach: Lac Duchesne a touch under 0.9 km, Lac Dumortier 1.4 km, Lac Chatelain a touch under 1.4 km, Lac Duby 1.5 km and Lac Clement a touch under 2.9 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. The shape of Lac Dryander rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Expect July to average close to 18°C, with January the cold end at about -14°C. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Dryander.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Duchesne sits 0.9 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac Dryander, the notice at the access point is the final word.
