Soft grey light all day today, with a useful S wind pushing food about and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Douglass should hold close to structure within a cast of the bank. The night carries the best of the day. Make the first hour count and build on it. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Douglass lies within the bounds of Mauricie, Quebec. What surrounds it is northern bush. Roughly 31 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. A shoreline of some 4.1 km keeps the choices simple. Head to Laurentides, 52 km away, for anything you forgot. It is 108 km to La Cité-Limoilou, the nearest city. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Open biodiversity records for Mauricie list northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Read Lac Douglass before you fish it and the day goes better.
Averages here run 17°C at the top of summer and -16°C at the bottom of winter. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Plan around that when you fish Lac Douglass.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Primard, 1.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Lac Douglass in what we hold.
