A closed sky with even light today, with just enough WSW wind to ripple the surface and pressure sitting still. The productive water at Lac des Yvette will be around points where shallow meets deep. Little to get excited about, though the evening holds a sliver of promise. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Lac des Yvette is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean waters in Quebec. The setting is taiga on every side. With some 24 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Shoreline comes to about 3.7 km, small enough to learn in a day. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. Start from Saint-Honoré, 81 km down the road. Labrecque follows at 86 km, then Saint-Ambroise at 87 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth figures are not published for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean records list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish among the fish reported. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac des Yvette gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
The year swings from about -19°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from mid May. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about mid May until roughly early November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. The season on Lac des Yvette follows the weather closely.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Lac Azur at 1.3 km is the sensible second choice. Treat access at Lac des Yvette as something to verify.
