Strong air moving over the water all day, with a stiffish breeze from the SSW and pressure sitting still. The water to cover at Lac des Soeurs is structure within a cast of the bank. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac des Soeurs falls in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, part of Quebec. The bank gives way to pine and birch. About 2 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. On size it sits at the modest end of our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list. Nearest place of any size is Roberval, 8.8 km away. It is 87 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, recorded fish include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. On Lac des Soeurs the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Expect July to average close to 18°C, with January the cold end at about -16°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. At Lac des Soeurs the season follows that pattern closely.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. For a change of water, Lac du Dos d'Ane is 2.3 km distant. Nothing on Lac des Soeurs should be assumed from this page alone.
