Showers crossing the water today, with dead-still conditions with the barometer flat. Fish at Lac des Soeurs should hold close to the calm side of the wind. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac des Soeurs is an Abitibi-Témiscamingue water, in Quebec. The setting is rolling bush on every side. At 8 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Val-d'Or is the closest place, 11 km off. Barraute follows at 29 km, then Malartic at 30 km. Round about: 4.4 km away is Lac Beland, Lac Blouin at 4.6 km, 5.6 km away is Lac Colombiere, Lac Faucher at 6.2 km and 6.3 km away is Lac Calder. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Abitibi-Témiscamingue records list northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead among the fish reported. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. On Lac des Soeurs a short move beats a long cast.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -17°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. At Lac des Soeurs the season follows that pattern closely.
We hold no note on access for this one. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac Beland is 4.4 km off. Signs at Lac des Soeurs carry more weight than any list.
