A cloudless sky and strong light today, with mild air moving in from the ESE and pressure sitting still. The productive water at Lac des Droseras will be around windblown banks where food collects. The forecast backs the stretch from afternoon into evening. Settle in and let the day develop.

Lac des Droseras is one of the Côte-Nord waters in Quebec. Elevation runs to 479 metres. Start from Forestville, 121 km down the road. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 167 km away. Within a short drive: Lac des Poils de Lievre at about 1.1 km, Lac du Grand Couac some 11 km off, Lac au Brochet at about 20 km, Lac des Percees some 20 km off and Lac Dentelle at about 22 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. County-wide records name logperch. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. At Lac des Droseras light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -19°C. This far north the hard season runs and runs. Ice-out usually falls in mid May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. The season between ice runs from about mid May to early November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. That shapes the year on Lac des Droseras.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Failing this one, try Lac des Poils de Lievre, 1.1 km away. For Lac des Droseras, the notice at the access point is the final word.
