Glare on the water under a clear sky, with a faint W drift with a settled glass. Fish at Lac des Cygnes should hold close to structure within a cast of the bank. The best of it runs morning through afternoon. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac des Cygnes is one of the Lanaudière listings for Quebec. The bank is 230 metres above sea level. About 7 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Chertsey lies 11 km from the water. Rawdon follows at 19 km, then Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson at 20 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. The shape of Lac des Cygnes decides where the fish sit.
Climate normals give 18°C for July and -14°C for January. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. The season on Lac des Cygnes rarely departs from it.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. There is a car park at Forêt Ouareau Secteur Grande Vallée, roughly 470 m away. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac aux Castors is 0.2 km off. Signs at Lac des Cygnes carry more weight than any list.
