A grey, even sky over the water, with next to no ripple and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Lac des Claude around the weed line and any gaps in it. The day peaks in the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Look for Lac des Claude in Mauricie, Quebec. The surface lies 420 metres up. The water covers some 17 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The edge runs 2.1 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Nearest town is Leblanc, 41 km off. It is 209 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
We hold no depth figure for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Treat Lac des Claude as a water to read rather than to cover.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -17°C. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Plan around that when you fish Lac des Claude.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Monique at 1 km is the sensible second choice. Where Lac des Claude is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
