Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a gentle ripple from the SW with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Lac Deroy around the weed line and any gaps in it. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lac Deroy in the Côte-Nord part of Quebec. It sits 19 km in from the sea. It covers about 4 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Côte-Nord. Saint-Alexandre lies 64 km from the water. The big place round here is Saguenay, 293 km distant. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Côte-Nord: logperch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Lac Deroy that means starting tight and working out.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -15°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Expect Lac Deroy to follow that timing.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. If the gate is shut, Lac Durette at 2.2 km is the nearest alternative. For Lac Deroy, the notice at the access point is the final word.
