A grey, even sky over the water, with steady pressure of wind from the S and pressure going nowhere. The fish at Lac Delphis are likely to sit near inflow corners and shaded margins. Make the night the heart of the trip. Make the first hour count and build on it. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Look for Lac Delphis in Outaouais, Quebec. Elevation runs to 349 metres. It measures about 11 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The edge runs 1.4 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Val-des-Monts sits 29 km from the bank. For a city, Gatineau is 48 km off. The county edge is within a short distance of the bank.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. On Lac Delphis that means starting tight and working out.
The seasonal spread runs -13°C to 18°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about early December. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Lac Delphis runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Failing this one, try Lac de la Ferme, 1.1 km away. None of that is settled for Lac Delphis in what we hold.
