A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Fish at Lac Dean should hold close to the first drop-off and weed lines. One clear peak today: the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Dean is one of the Mauricie listings for Quebec. It stands 410 metres above sea level. Small enough that any disturbance crosses the whole surface. Most waters listed here for Mauricie are larger. Weymontachie lies 34 km from the water. It is 163 km to Trois-Rivières, the nearest city. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lac Dean the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -16°C. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Expect Lac Dean to follow that timing.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Caron, 0.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Dean, the notice at the access point is the final word.
