No direct sun expected today, with a soft SSE wind and the barometer holding steady. The fish at Lac de l'Orin are likely to sit near the shallows early and the drop later. The forecast is against you; the morning is the least bad option. Treat it as a scouting trip with a rod in hand. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

In Quebec, Lac de l'Orin belongs to Côte-Nord. The bank is 521 metres above sea level. Small at around 2 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Our Côte-Nord list holds plenty of bigger water. Forestville sits 78 km from here and is the nearest stop. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 103 km away. Close by you have: Lac du Bus at 0.4 km, Lac de la Traverse after 1.1 km, Lac du Laps at 1.2 km, Lac des Loups after 1.3 km and Lac Palus at 1.5 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Lac de l'Orin gives up more to patience than to distance.
The seasonal spread runs -18°C to 16°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Expect Lac de l'Orin to follow that timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac du Bus, 0.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Lac de l'Orin in what we hold.
