Rain on and off through the day, with mild air moving in from the SSW and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Lac de l'Oeil will be around any hard bottom among the soft. If you pick one session, make it the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Look for Lac de l'Oeil in Lanaudière, Quebec. The ground around here is lake country bush. The water covers some 18 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The edge runs 1.8 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Saint-Michel-des-Saints lies 24 km from the water. For a city, Trois-Rivières is 128 km off. This one is safely inside the county line.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Survey and observation records for Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac de l'Oeil responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -15°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near late April. Climate figures give an open season running late April to late November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Lac de l'Oeil fishes to that pattern most years.
No access rule appears in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. The nearest alternative is Lac en Croix, 0.7 km out. Ask locally about Lac de l'Oeil if anything is unclear.
