A wet system passing over today, with a light S breeze and pressure going nowhere. Fish at Lac de l'Aqueduc should hold close to the margins and the shelf beyond them. Everything points to the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac de l'Aqueduc lies in Laurentides, in Quebec. The bank is 271 metres above sea level. It runs to roughly 11 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. Start from Mont-Laurier, 13 km down the road. Then Ferme-Neuve, 24 km, and Rivière-Rouge, 38 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Anyone new to Lac de l'Aqueduc should walk it once before setting up.
Seasonal averages run from -14°C in January up to 18°C in July. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Climate figures give an open season running late April to late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. That is the shape of the year on Lac de l'Aqueduc.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac a Scattolin sits 1 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac de l'Aqueduc in particular, ask before you travel.
