Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with barely a breath of wind with a settled glass. Lac de l'Alliage should fish best around shallow cover and weed edges today. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

The Nord-du-Québec end of Quebec holds Lac de l'Alliage. It sits in boreal forest. Roughly 54 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Around 7.4 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. The town to know is Chibougamau, 51 km out. Chapais follows at 72 km, then Mistissini at 95 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. On Lac de l'Alliage the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
The warmest month averages 16°C, the coldest about -19°C. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Climate averages put the opening at about early May and the closing near mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. At Lac de l'Alliage the season follows that pattern closely.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Wiry, 0.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing on Lac de l'Alliage should be assumed from this page alone.
