Overcast skies today, with light air out of the SSW and no real change in pressure. The water to cover at Lac de la Vierge is structure within a cast of the bank. Save your energy for the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Set in Laurentides, Quebec, this is Lac de la Vierge. The ground around here is rolling bush. It covers about 2 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. It is a small entry by Laurentides standards. Prévost sits 8.2 km from here and is the nearest stop. Terrasse-des-Pins is 8.6 km and Saint-Jérôme 9.4 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Survey and observation records for Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. At Lac de la Vierge the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Between January at about -12°C and July at about 19°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. Ice clears near late April and comes back about early December in a typical year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. On Lac de la Vierge that shapes the whole year.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Massie sits 0.4 km off and takes the overflow. Signs at Lac de la Vierge carry more weight than any list.
