An even grey lid over the water, with a stiffish breeze from the WNW with a settled glass. Whatever swims in Lac de la Tangue should be near the first drop-off and weed lines. The day holds up well from the day. Work the productive water thoroughly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac de la Tangue lies in Outaouais, Quebec. Height above sea level is 329 metres. It covers about 4 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. On size it sits at the modest end of our Outaouais list. For supplies, Saint-Boniface is 45 km out. Then Maniwaki, 57 km, and Ferme-Neuve, 66 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. On Lac de la Tangue the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Typical July readings run about 18°C; by January the average is down near -16°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. Open water usually runs from late April until about late November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Lac de la Tangue fishes to that pattern most years.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Interdit, 1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat access at Lac de la Tangue as something to verify.
