Damp, showery conditions today, with a soft W wind with a settled glass. The productive water at Lac de la Table will be around any hard bottom among the soft. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac de la Table is one of the Lanaudière waters in Quebec. The bank is 431 metres above sea level. At about 47 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. There is roughly 4.3 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Few waters listed in Lanaudière are bigger. 17 km away sits Manawan, the nearest town. Saint-Michel-des-Saints follows at 78 km, then Ferme-Neuve at 85 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. On Lac de la Table the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -16°C. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. The season on Lac de la Table follows the weather closely.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Failing this one, try Lac du Braconnier, 2.1 km away. Signs at Lac de la Table carry more weight than any list.
