A closed sky with even light today, with a whisper of wind from the S with the barometer flat. The productive water at Lac de la Savane will be around reed fringes and open pockets. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac de la Savane falls in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, part of Quebec. The surface lies 297 metres up. The far bank is a conversation away, so keep low and quiet. It is a small entry by Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean standards. The nearest place of any size is Normandin, 32 km away. After that come Albanel at 36 km and Saint-Félicien at 49 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Lac de la Savane responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Between January at about -19°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. That is the shape of the year on Lac de la Savane.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. The nearest alternative is Lac de la Grosse Truite, 1.1 km out. Nothing here settles the position at Lac de la Savane for certain.
