Dull, settled light over the water, with just enough SSW wind to ripple the surface and the barometer holding steady. Fish at Lac de la Pitoune should hold close to windblown banks where food collects. Little to get excited about, though the evening holds a sliver of promise. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

This water sits in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. It sits at 657 metres above sea level. Small at around 3 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Most waters listed here for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean are larger. For a base, Saint-Honoré sits 46 km out. Saint-Ambroise lies 51 km off, Labrecque another 53 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Lac de la Pitoune gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
The year swings from about -19°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. The season on Lac de la Pitoune follows the weather closely.
Access is not recorded for this water. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac de la Gaffe sits 0.3 km off and takes the overflow. Check the position at Lac de la Pitoune before loading the car.
