A wet system passing over today, with a light chop building from the WSW with the barometer flat. Most of the action on Lac de la Passe should come off the shallows early and the drop later. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac de la Passe is a Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean water, in Quebec. The land about it is northern bush. At about 12 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Bank access stretches around 2.7 km in total. The town to know is Pont Rouge, 76 km out. Further out sit Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc (78 km) and Sainte-Monique (81 km). The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Records held for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean cover northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Lac de la Passe the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Long-term averages put July at about 16°C and January near -19°C. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Lac de la Passe fishes to that pattern most years.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac de la Chapelle, 0.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat access at Lac de la Passe as something to verify.
