Thin cloud passing over the water tonight, with mild air moving in from the WSW with a settled glass. Start the search at Lac de la Noire along shallow cover and weed edges. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac de la Noire falls in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, part of Quebec. The surface lies 364 metres up. At 3 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list holds plenty of bigger water. The closest town, Mattawa, is 43 km away. It is 215 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Survey and observation records for Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. On Lac de la Noire the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Expect July to average close to 18°C, with January the cold end at about -14°C. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Climate averages put the opening at about late April and the closing near late November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Expect Lac de la Noire to follow that timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Woodford at 1.2 km is the sensible second choice. Rules at Lac de la Noire are worth checking on the day.
