Fresh rain topping the water up today, with a kind S breeze on the water and pressure sitting still. The water to cover at Lac de la Grange is the margins and the shelf beyond them. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac de la Grange is listed under Outaouais, Quebec. The ground around here is pine and birch. With some 38 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. On our Outaouais list it sits near the top for size. Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel at 15 km is the nearest place to stop. Then La Minerve, 15 km, and Lac-Simon, 24 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Read Lac de la Grange before you fish it and the day goes better.
Long-run averages give July about 18°C and January about -14°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. Break-up near late April, freeze-up near late November: that is the shape of an average year. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Expect Lac de la Grange to follow that timing.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac des Apides, 1.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lac de la Grange as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
