A closed sky with even light today, with a soft SSW wind and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac de la Flore should come off shallow cover and weed edges. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

The Outaouais entry here is Lac de la Flore, in Quebec. The surface lies 370 metres up. It covers about 3 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Outaouais. Nearest town is Ferme-Neuve, 103 km off. Gatineau sits 221 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. This one is safely inside the county line.
Our records hold no depth for this water. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac de la Flore repays a walk before the first cast.
The year swings from about -18°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. At Lac de la Flore the season follows that pattern closely.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Badelard sits 0.9 km off and takes the overflow. Signs at Lac de la Flore carry more weight than any list.
