A grey, even sky over the water, with a gentle ripple from the W with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Lac de la Falaise around the first drop-off and weed lines. The productive run goes the day. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

The Mauricie end of Quebec holds Lac de la Falaise. Everything around it is lake country bush. At roughly 5 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Nearest place of any size is Shawinigan, 4.4 km away. For a city, Trois-Rivières is 32 km off. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Across Mauricie, recorded fish include northern pike, brook trout and walleye. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Read Lac de la Falaise before you fish it and the day goes better.
Long-run averages give July about 19°C and January about -13°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late April. Climate averages put the opening at about late April and the closing near early December. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Anyone fishing Lac de la Falaise regularly works to that calendar.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. The nearest alternative is Lac Martel, 2.9 km out.
