Passing showers with dry spells between, with an easy breeze from the SSW with the glass holding level. Whatever swims in Lac de la Division should be near points where shallow meets deep. Not a day the forecast likes; the night keeps a flicker of interest. Lower the pace and stay patient.

You will find Lac de la Division in Outaouais, Quebec. It stands 303 metres above sea level. Around 14 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. Shoreline comes to about 1.7 km, small enough to learn in a day. For a base, Deep River sits 53 km out. Gatineau is the closest city, 145 km away. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. At Lac de la Division the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Averages move between -15°C in January and 18°C in July. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. It holds true on Lac de la Division more years than not.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. For a change of water, Lac a Biotite is 2.2 km distant. For Lac de la Division in particular, ask before you travel.
