Dull, settled light over the water, with light air out of the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Give the shallows early and the drop later the first hour at Lac Dauplaise. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Dauplaise lies within the bounds of Côte-Nord, Quebec. It lies 635 metres above sea level. This is a tiny water, and one quiet approach covers all of it. Most waters listed here for Côte-Nord are larger. Start from Port-Cartier, 81 km down the road. Saint-Alexandre follows at 82 km, then Sept-Îles at 90 km. Close neighbours run: Lac Mondary out at 0.5 km, Lac Mathieu 0.6 km, Lac Belanger out at 1.6 km, Lac Housset 2.1 km and Lac Daugy out at 2.4 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. At Lac Dauplaise the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Climate records put July near 14°C and January near -19°C. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Winter locks it down, and mid May brings it back. Averages suggest open water from about mid May through to roughly early November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. That is the shape of the year on Lac Dauplaise.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. If the gate is shut, Lac Mondary at 0.5 km is the nearest alternative. Signs at Lac Dauplaise carry more weight than any list.
