Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a light SSW breeze and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Daisy should hold close to the calm side of the wind. If you pick one session, make it the middle of the day. Keep moving until you find them. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

In Quebec, Lac Daisy falls inside Laurentides. Mixed forest runs right down to the water. It covers about 7 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. 38 km away sits Ferme-Neuve, the nearest town. The big place round here is Orléans, 174 km distant. Others within reach: Lac James at 1.5 km, Lac Ciossy 1.9 km off, Lac Godmer at 2.7 km, Troisieme lac Busby 3.1 km off and Deuxieme lac Busby at 3.2 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Across Laurentides, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. At Lac Daisy the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Averages move between -16°C in January and 17°C in July. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Lac Daisy runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac James is 1.5 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Daisy in what we hold.
