Overcast skies today, with a kind SSE breeze on the water and pressure sitting still. Expect most activity at Lac Crion around the shaded margin through bright spells. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Crion is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean waters in Quebec. It sits at 353 metres above sea level. This is a pocket water of some 3 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. Head to Normandin, 54 km away, for anything you forgot. Saguenay is the closest city, 170 km away. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Records held for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean cover northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Lac Crion repays a walk before the first cast.
Long-term averages put July at about 16°C and January near -19°C. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. At Lac Crion the season follows that pattern closely.
No access rule appears in what we hold. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. For a change of water, Lac Rosenau is 0.4 km distant. Treat Lac Crion as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
