Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with dead-still conditions and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Colin should come off structure within a cast of the bank. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

The Laurentides end of Quebec holds Lac Colin. It lies 423 metres above sea level. Small at around 6 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Ferme-Neuve is the closest town at 97 km. After that come Manawan at 108 km and Mont-Laurier at 112 km. More in the same country: Lac Tusk near enough 0.4 km, Lac Fin within 1.6 km, Lac Royal near enough 1.9 km, Lac Elder within 2 km and Lac Moore near enough 2.3 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Public occurrence data for Laurentides names pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. On Lac Colin the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -17°C on the long-run figures. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Plan any trip to Lac Colin around it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Should this one be busy, Lac Tusk is 0.4 km off. Treat access at Lac Colin as something to verify.
