An even grey lid over the water, with light air out of the NW with the glass holding level. On Lac Charny, work structure within a cast of the bank first. A grinding day likely, with the morning worth the effort if any is. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today. Cold hands, careful casts: precision is everything today.

Lac Charny falls in Côte-Nord, part of Quebec. Beyond the shoreline you have spruce and muskeg. At some 8.06 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. On our Côte-Nord list it sits near the top for size. Labrador City is the closest town at 238 km. Then Wabush, 242 km, and Fermont, 258 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth figures are not published for this one. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Survey and observation records for Côte-Nord include logperch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Read Lac Charny for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Temperature averages peak at 12°C in July and bottom out at -24°C in January. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early June. Expect the water usable from around early June until roughly late October. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. The season on Lac Charny rarely departs from it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Buzancois at 3.4 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac Charny in what we hold.
