Cloud coming and going through the night, with a faint S drift and no real change in pressure. On Lac Caronel, work shallow cover and weed edges first. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

The Côte-Nord end of Quebec holds Lac Caronel. The land about it is spruce and muskeg. About 4 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Côte-Nord. Port-Cartier lies 56 km from the water. It is 319 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Fish Lac Caronel to its features, not to its size.
Expect July to average close to 14°C, with January the cold end at about -19°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough mid May. Ice usually gives way near mid May, and forms again about early November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. The season on Lac Caronel rarely departs from it.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac a la Mousse Rouge, 1.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat access at Lac Caronel as something to verify.
