Wet weather working through today, with a useful SSW wind pushing food about and the barometer holding steady. Lac Carole should fish best around any hard bottom among the soft today. The day peaks in the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Out in Laurentides, Quebec, sits Lac Carole. It sits at 415 metres above sea level. It covers about 8 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Manawan sits 48 km from here and is the nearest stop. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne sits 161 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Reported across Laurentides: pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. The shape of Lac Carole decides where the fish sit.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -16°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. On Lac Carole the same rules apply, with local timing.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Failing this one, try Lac Sheila, 1.2 km away. None of that is settled for Lac Carole in what we hold.
