Soft grey light all day today, with a working S breeze and pressure sitting still. On Lac Camille, work shallow cover and weed edges first. Make the night the heart of the trip. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The Mauricie entry here is Lac Camille, in Quebec. The bank is 536 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to about 6 hectares — small enough to read in one session. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. 61 km away sits Weymontachie, the nearest town. Beyond it, Saint-Félicien at 68 km and Saint-Prime at 72 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Public occurrence data for Mauricie names northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Fish Lac Camille where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Climate records put July near 16°C and January near -18°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Climate figures give an open season running early May to mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Lac Camille runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Failing this one, try Lac du Feu, 1.1 km away. Treat access at Lac Camille as something to verify.
