Clear air and long views across the water tonight, with flat calm through the day and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Cameron should come off shallow cover and weed edges. Little to get excited about, though the morning holds a sliver of promise. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short.

Night
Lac Cameron is one of the Nord-du-Québec waters in Quebec. It lies 315 metres above sea level. The water covers around 1.14 sq km, which puts most of it out of reach from the bank. The edge covers about 5.5 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. The town to know is Lebel-sur-Quévillon, 29 km out. For a city, Gatineau is 435 km off. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Nord-du-Québec, recorded fish include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. At Lac Cameron the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Averages here run 16°C at the top of summer and -19°C at the bottom of winter. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. That is the shape of the year on Lac Cameron.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Should this one be busy, Lac Esther is 9.9 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Cameron in what we hold.
